At fifteen years old Mike practiced karate at Bath YMCA for two years until the club closed, despite this he still studied the art through his teenage and adolescent years. Many years later he went on to attend self defence classes and a kickboxing course before starting Taekwondo training in 2006. Three and a half years later he achieved his black belt first Dan, followed by a second and third Dan through the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association. In 2012 Mike joined another club specialising in a different style of taekwondo called freestyle taekwondo, where he achieved yet another black belt first Dan. After aquiring instructor certification with The Birtish Martial Arts and Boxing Association Mike has since gone on to use his years of experience to create and run his own family friendly Taekwondo and self defence classes.
